Track Name: Claim Your Prize
This memory has left me mesmerized.
To think it’s only hours behind.
Estranged by my body and my mind;
What have I just witnessed with my own two eyes?
Now what’s all this chaos by the door?
Broken glass obscures the floor
Oh god, there’s always something more
Just what good are people for?
Oh, no more… get off my floor.

Well, say what you will about the man,
He’s only trying to flip flop home.
He travels through the sea foam,
Homebound, coiling to be unwound.
So take it with a grain, now.

Here come the words I kept inside,
Now the sun is on its rise.
I know you’ve something to disguise-
Something from your past nine lives.
Well, maybe this comes as a surprise,
But quit selling what no one buys.
It’s not right…

Wipe all those diamonds from your eyes
Claim your prize
Stand up to me and fight

Well does this make you feel big?
Does this make you feel small?
You feel anything? Anything at all?

Well, say what you will about the man,
He’s only trying to flip flop home.
He travels through the sea foam,
Homebound, coiling to be unwound.
So take it with a grain, now.
Track Name: Lattice of a Lonely Heart
Within the lattice between the temples,
A somber sentiment: freedom has its poisons.
I don’t know just how to explain it,
I can’t make sense of it; you can’t feel my pain.

I can feel my body
Start to shake
I can hear their laughter
Flowing through my veins

And all your fears are coming true,
And you cannot tell a soul.

Writhing like a wilted flower,
A rise in temperature capsizing my center
Watch the bubble in the batter
Squealing to the top
It expands until it pops.

And all your fears are coming true,
And you cannot tell a soul.
Track Name: Lee
I don’t know what you want,
I don’t know what you’re up to,
But I don’t like it one bit.
You know I don’t have to trust you, don’t you?

I’m a virtuous man,
But I’m surrounded by vultures.
I’ll supply what you demand;
We all know business is a common culture.

I look outside,
Close my eyes,
Close my mind.

Look into my big eye,
Through the window to my mind;
Now the wheel’s in spin,
And I will tap my ring again.

It is here I will decide
If you spin verities or lies.

Humbly fumble through your pockets
See my eyes within their sockets
Holding all the ancient history
In my memories, which last.
Passing judgment, sifting, searching
Through an index of the past.
Track Name: When I Turn My Head
When I turn my head to see the marching men—
See the heads of bodies toot their horns again.

See the children kicking rocks to show they’re bored.
They’re mothers all applaud the fair while they remain ignored.

And grinning, hungry bellies stumbling always ask for more.
In every face there you can see a face you’ve seen before.

Cheeks in sunlight,
Endless dogfight,
Forever glowing red
When I turn my head.

Wheels turn slowly, wave and smile.
A mile in reverse is still travelling a mile,
So smile.

And grinning, hungry bellies stumbling always ask for more.
In every face there you can see a face you’ve seen before.

Cheeks in sunlight,
Endless dogfight,
Forever glowing red
When I turn my head.
Track Name: Curtains
You just want to sit down with me
I just want to stand up with you.
Curtains help to make it homely
Since when does so much company make you lonely?

I don’t know just how to tell you
How so small I feel inside sometimes.
You can see the smoke from his lips
Swirling in the rays of the sun.

It’s too much.
It’s too much.
Track Name: Croak
Drink up when I’m feeling dry,
What a wondrous grey sky.
Take an eye for an eye,
I hope the rain don’t get inside.
Pick me up dead or alive,
See how much I’m worth per pint.

Croak
Croak
Croak
Croak

At this time in my life
I still can’t get nothin’ right.
Tip my hat to my wife
I still can’t get nothin’ right.

Go to sleep,
Wake up
Go to sleep,
Wake up
Go to sleep,
Wake up
Go to sleep,
Wake up.

Croak
Track Name: Hour of the Pearl
When that fiery globe slips under the bay
When the earth keeps mindlessly spinning away
Before lamplights and candles cast shadows of day
Before harlots and sailors lay down to gaze

At that lustrous pearl in the sky
Choral voices forming clusters in my mind
Still life fritters in the tide
Like an orange decomposing at the rind.

Rising like a yo-yo, pouring down the coast
The hour of the pearl shall always run its course.
Pick it up—the seashell. See how it grows?
Pick it up—the seashell. See how it spirals?

Oh that lustrous pearl in the sky
Hours couldn’t measure the thoughts that flood my eyes
Pry that oyster open at the sides
Kiss it with your lips and taste the breath of life.
Track Name: Fill A Pocket
Please, sir, I just need a buck,
I’m usually on top of this,
I’m usually on top of it all.

Know that this ain’t charity,
I’m willing to work for it,
I’ll pay it off when I can.

I’ve just gotta fill a pocket or two,
But hey, so have you.
Bellies a-grumblin’
My life’s a-tumblin’ too.

Tough times we’re all livin’ in
It never gets easier,
Never gets easier at all.

And there’ll always be something you’ll never get done
'Cause all that’s gained is lost by the last one,
And I can watch nearly ever toe get stepped on
Before I stand my ground.

Please don’t misunderstand me,
I just wanna be happy.
I’ll bend like a bridge, and happily.

Please don’t misunderstand me,
I just wanna be happy.
I’ll bend ‘til I break, and happily.

Happy, happy, happy, happy.
Track Name: All Whizzing By
From across the way
I can see them, day by day.
There the boys share the grace
Everything falls into place.

When I was young
I could see the sky

I saw them fall
Like birds from on high
I can recall them
All whizzing by,
They were all whizzing by.

It dove into my thoughts
Like a pick to ice

I smelled a pond
On a warm summer night
I sensed the time go
All whizzing by,
And it was all whizzing by.

I closed my eyes
And saw something in nothing

I felt a wave
From deep in my mind
I saw the starlights
All whizzing by,
They were all whizzing by.

Well don’t it all seem silly now?
Who’d have thought it’d come to this?
Well don’t it all seem silly now?
Who’d have thought it’d come to this?
Bitter bliss. Bitter bliss.
